Excellent article on science and politics.
Yes science of course often used for political purposes.
But it should not be.
And I believe anti science views are as prevalent on the far left as they are on the far right
Science is not left wing nor right wing.

I find when people claim “science is political”, it’s often to excuse partisan rhetoric masked with scientific justification
This is different from accepting the unavoidable evil that science gets influenced by politics by necessity, but that we should be minimising this as much as humanly possible

ANY CHURCH WILL continue to STRUGGLE to empower people to fully RE-ORIENT THEIR LIVES around the NATURE and WAYS of Christ, if its gatherings are JUST ANOTHER PLACE where CONSUMERISM DICTATES PEOPLE’S CHOICES.

If our Christianity causes us to say, “see how God can use King David even when he did horrid things!” to justify people in power we like instead of “Where is the prophet Nathan of our time who has been sent by God to call King David out for all his horrid actions?!” we need new theology.
