Agreed. Instead of finding actual Disney ripoffs to throw their hatred at (Quest for Camelot and especially last year’s Spellbound), the animation community (somehow) decided to bash on one that celebrates the studio’s legacy rather than one that wants to rip off Disney.

Same with Disney Animation. Both studios are infinitely better with people like Pete Docter, Jared Bush and Jennifer Lee than with Lotso/Lasseter.

Add the Japanese toilet story to the list of reasons why it was the right decision for both studios to kick him out and replace him with genuinely great/trustworthy creative leaders.

Considering Lasseter’s ego throughout his tenure at Pixar and Disney Animation, I’d credit the filmmakers more so than his “leadership.”
