i would also add that HDD space and time also an issue. why install a new system if it works. so far the only people that migrated was due to issues on windows.
Cant wait for Steam OS, then i can finally migrate to Linux again.

This isn’t about turning Linux into Windows.

It’s about lowering the entry cost.
Once users are on Linux, they can explore terminals, distros, and workflows at their own pace.

Valve already proved this works.

SteamOS hides Linux complexity, ships with drivers ready, and makes games “just work” via Proton.

Desktop Linux never got an equivalent migration experience.

What’s missing isn’t another distro.

It’s a *migration layer*:
• runs from Windows
• installs Linux alongside Windows
• migrates files & desktop identity
• preconfigures drivers
• sets up Wine/Proton automatically

Most users don’t want:
• terminals
• driver hunts
• reinstalling apps
• learning new workflows on day one

They want to install Linux, reboot, and keep working — with files, apps, and hardware already functional.
