There is nothing speculative or fake about their GPUs or engineering and manufacturing capabilities. It’s the uses that people are putting them to that are risky.

Don’t get me wrong their stock is incredibly overpriced like cisco in the 90s. But like cisco they are a real company that will survive a bubble just fine even if the stock speculators don’t.

This is mostly a problem because long term interaction with chatgpt eventually wears down all the guardrails. Long term memory is what causes this slide into folie a deux. In a clean chat account it’ll try and talk you down but eventually it just reflects what you are saying to it.

The answer is google doesn’t have a choice. If they don’t do it, chatgpt will. Google has a near monopoly on search but it can evaporate over night.

Newer models are expensive to train and run but then they get cheaper and more energy efficient to run over time. One thing that everyone is doing is automatically routing requests to those cheaper models and only sending a small amount of requests to reasoning models.

So the thing about engineers is that they are really good at finding inefficiencies and cutting costs, so eventually both inferencing and training will get a lot less expensive will becoming more useful. You can’t assume that the cost of an LLM call will remain static

I don’t think anyone should vote for her. I think if she can convince democrats in her district to vote for her then the party should support her as the nominee. I would never vote for her, even if she changed her politics because she is an idiot on top of being a nazi.

You’re misrepresenting what all these people are saying. None of them are saying that AI is bullshit or that there is going to be a complete collapse. They are saying that there are a lot of AI investments that aren’t going to pan out. Just like with other tech bubbles built on real advances.

We don’t need to roll out the red carpet for her nationally or do anything to support her at all right now, but if she wants to run as a democrat and can _win a democratic party primary_ in her district then the party should support her like any other nominee. She ain’t switching parties tho.
