I'm going to list all the ways (and counting) Trump 2.0 & the American Oligarchy has affected my work.
In full swing of a shutdown. I'm lucky that I don't live paycheck to paycheck, but my greatest fear is losing my job. Sometimes, I feel like I wouldn't mind taking a detour in my career -try something different, take a break. But isn't the job market dismal now? Can I work in a cozy bookstore?

Sent out our monthly newsletter at work. So many emails bounced back from federal employees that took the DRP, VERA, Fork, whatever. Lots of people gone.

Apparently, there's a white supremacy group that's kind of exploded over the weekend by placing stickers everywhere. I'm encouraging anyone who sees one around town to take them down. Mostly in FAI but now over Southcentral

40 men were detailed by ICE somewhere in the L48 and transferred up here. If anyone knows how we can help, let me know. I can speak Spanish.

ICE officials send 40 immigration detainees to Alaska correctional facilities
An immigration attorney called the transfer “unusual” and said he hadn't seen anything like it in his decade as a lawyer in Alaska.

Guess who's coming to town? 🤢 HOW does repressing all forms of energy production such as wind and solar in favor of a less diverse portfolio consisting of only oil, gas, and coal EQUAL sustainable energy??? I also read the comments on Must Read Alaska. God, those ppl are dumb as hell.

Had the creepiest old man hitting on me today. 🤮 I offered up my seat for him at an event a long time, so he sat next to two of my friends. He apparently remembered and said he was so excited to sit next to beautiful girls and I am such a beautiful girl. 🤮 🤮

Week 13 of no bullet email.

I'm surprised by the people that are still responding to this.

Anyways, good week so far. Got some major spring cleaning done at home

I'm on a new BC after years of avoiding it. Today, I had a sudden episode of pelvic pain, nausea, and chills. Then, about an hour afterwards or so, I passed what I think was a decidual cast. It was the BIGGEST blood clot, I'd ever seen.
Women have it rough & we still have to get through the day.

I've been noticing a few more errors in #Duolingo lately.

Week 12 of no bullet email.

My coworkers got consolidated into DOI and now we heard unofficial news that they were returned back to us. This whole thing is Management 101: bad ways to manage your organization.

The possibility of getting fired draws closer. My co-workers and I are thinking of reaching out to all of our partners next week to advocate on our behalf.

If we were actually in an energy crisis and trying to do fix it, we wouldn't be discounting clean energy. If we truly cared about innovation, we wouldn't be discounting cleaner energy.

Week 11 of no bullet email. Leadership assured us that since we have lost people, we would be adjusting so that as a whole we're not trying to do the same amount of work with less people, but I'm getting assigned tasks already that I have no idea how to do and was definitely above my pay grade.

I love my job and I do think the work that I do matters, but it's getting harder to put up with the bull crap. It's disruptive, corrupt, and disempowering.

Week 10 of no bullets

Having to do the online training on protecting private information and records is such a joke considering what DOGE is doing.

I wonder when we'll start to feel the effects of the tariffs in Alaska. Anybody have guesses or article links?
There is apparently a decline in ships in Seattle this month.

I'm trying out a new treatment which involves giving myself a shot (🫣) once a month. It costs $10K!!! per shot. 🫨
But insurance rejected it because I don't have a TB vaccine on record. I probably do, but got scheduled to get one on Friday and hopefully they cover it!!

Week 9 of not responding to the 5 bullet points email.

One of my coworkers nearly forgot to do it today. How long are we expected to keep up this ridiculousness? Sigh.
