I write YA Sci-Fi and Fiction. Avid reader. Foster parent for over a decade.
Also, quality of audio books vary A LOT. The first few I tried were not my speed so I shopped around. Who preforms it makes a big difference. I also tend not to listen to books I've read before because I've already decided what voices should sound like.

Maybe, everyone is a bit different, but experimentation is the best way. I started with weeding and listening because it is repetitive and takes a while. When I got used to it there, I could listen other places. But there are still days where my brain doesn't want to engage, so I don't make it.

Am I allowed to vote "Finding time"?

I listen when there is not much else to do but get into it. Driving, weeding, cleaning the house, going for a run or walk ... stuff that puts you in a "zone" I guess?

Lol, I've never been able to keep to a short story either!

Or a single book ... why write 1 when it could be 5?

No debtors prison in my book … you are just sold as a slave to cover the cost of your debts.

Write the one thing you’ve been dying to write regardless of its relationship to your workflow or current project

Well, ideally, you have a will as soon as you have any assets/dependents.
