I learned while working for BCLC that the conventional wisdom, backed by historic pool size data, is that when economic &/or political uncertainties go high, far more folks play lottery for a moment of wishful hope. Plus, bigger prizes tend to attract more players, despite diminishing odds to win.

Agreed. Though I’m also here for a ghost Bond, zombie Bond, or otherwise supernaturally resurrected super spy. Alternately, just a fresh Bond, as regularly happens with other super heroes and Timelords.

I can’t imagine using the ad supported version of this, or letting Spotify curate my playlists. I’d love to see Bandcamp or another alternative step up that fairly pays artists and has the breadth of library, or more, that Spotify hosts. Premium Spotify isn’t perfect, yet is reliable.

Competition is great for lots of optional consumer goods like movies or blenders or digital platforms. Health care, not so much. Nor for that directly affects safety and quality of life. That sort of thing should be a tax funded, regulated, reliable, & universally accessible government service.
