Can't say about switching since I started with injections, but with injections they should do a training with you on how to do it and you can ask as many questions as you want. Maybe ask about injections into fat if possible since I've heard those have little to no pain and a shorter needle

From experience over time it gets easier and the focusing on specific features lessens. Will say getting bangs and a hairstyle that grabs your face are good ways to greatly help
