the way i was praying for emumix3 instead

there's a certain je ne sais quoi to when characters like hikaru who have died/are not present by the beginning of a story are only shown through other peoples perspectives that just guts me like a fish every time...i need more non yoshiki pov hikaru

+ with negative traits just like the rest of us, with layers of nuance to him that aren't present in yoshiki's super narrow-minded vision of him

+ because yoshiki's pov of hikaru is really our main lens of the guy for the majority of the story and so we get lulled into believing yoshiki's unreliable narrator, seeing him as something almost idolised, even though its far more complex than that and hikaru really is just a normal person+

i like how flawed the og hikaru is in comparison to yoshiki's rose-tinted pov of him like you can tell in this scene that hikaru is objectively. not a Great Person and has actual issues (what im assuming is heavily internalised homophobia) and how that says a lot about both grief and yoshiki+

one of the good things about them is that wataru looks passably feminine enough that i can pass him off as a woman in case my family asks...
