Cosplayer and soft fabricator!
Maker of all the things ✂️🖌️
🇦🇺 Naarm / Melbourne
The sheets were stuck down with prosaide adhesive ONE AT A TIME. THIS TOOK AGESSSS 😭😭😭😭😭
I was making sure to create wrinkles and texture while sticking the sheets down, and after they were all on, I did a bit of spot painting with the latex to help blend the pieces 🍖🥓

I then created "nurnies" (an industry term apparently!) these are sheets of latex that are brushed onto a plastic surface, layer by layer, pigmented into different shades. This is to create more texture on the dress

When latex is layered it can become very heavy, which is why I opted to use light fabrics and a self-made corset base structure to distribute the weight evenly and prevent sagging/slipping

I pre-cut strips of nylon ripstop, dipped them in pigmented brush latex and laid them onto the skirt while shaping wrinkled texture over the shaping I had created. This is what it looked like before it dried!

I sculpted the shape by pinning and hand-stitching down a second layer of fabric and stuffing with wadding as I go to create the right shape.
