I completely agree with your perspective. The ideas and people must be strengthened from outside the government. And trusted academics need to step in to fill the data vacuum being created here

It is insane how extensively they’ve leveraged their reach into the agency. This will have massive repercussions. We must act to reinforce the presence and resilience of trans people.

Principle 3- Visibility: Trans people need to be visible as a group. If the federal government erases a group of people, the population must take visibility into their own hands. #transvisibility

Principle 2- Anonymity: Families of trans kids, especially young kids, cannot be publicly identifiable right now. Children are not able to consent to being a public presence or target.

Principle 1- Urgency: Trans kids are at risk of being controlled and repressed right now. We KNOW that the evidence on repression. We cannot allow the the federal government to affect the lives of our children. #transrights

I’ve noticed a lot of reporting excludes the extent of emphasis on transgender erasure- I think that is lack of comfort (and own phobias). It is time for journalists to step up in a big way.

Agree, it is about control. Control of who is allowed to exist and how we are allowed to act. It targets trans kids, but the implications are much broader.

They are being put on forced administrative leave when they don’t comply. We need them to stay in their jobs, not be shaken out and replaced by loyalists. They need to comply minimally, and the work to end this has to come from outside the government
