Back in the 80s, a fellow HS student in Sacto who was proto-alt-right was the angriest person I ever knew with regards to Rush Limbaugh (who started in Sac). Reason? He was far too lefty on some things.

This fits well with the current profile of CK's murderer.

I want to like this platform, but Bluesky somehow does not fulfill the social networking void. I want Livejournal, where I can ramble on for hours and come back a month later to read responses. This is too much early FB, where if there's no response in 10 mins, your post is dead.

A fast-food addicted workmate made the statement that home cooking that's not in a restaurant isn't "cuisine". Cuisine, of course, simply means "kitchen". A restaurant seeks to make a single version of that profitable but still homely. Fast food seeks to streamline it to nothing but profit.

Once upon a time, my opinion of Musk could have been described as "complicated". Trump has driven countless contracted businesses into bankruptcy as well, and my parents' company was tanked by similar tactics by another similar bad actor.

As a gamer since at least the late 70s, I've always been a fan of The Sims since it carried on from Sim City. Today, I considered playing some version again for the first time in more than a decade, and was met with this (truncated list; srsly, this goes on for many pages). Nah, I'm good.

Apart from more obvious world events of the past year, in 2025 what I have realised: do NOT use a company's repair facility. Even in warranty. They seem to have become disorganised chop shops. Not naming companies, but it's been an epic first half of the year for this.

A reminder that the Nazi party, in 1937, stated that their "positives Christentum", or "Positive Christianity", was not based upon Christ, but the idea that Hitler was the face of that "Christian Nationalist" religion.

We've fought this before. We won.
