Getting people to run in 2028 starts now! Emmet County has local nonpartisan elections for school boards, city & village councils & village trustees in November. The filing deadline is April 21, 2026. With the expansion of data centers, we need to fill the ballot for every elected position.

On Tuesday 2-10-2026, Suzanna Shrkeli will be having a meet & greet at Bob's Place, Alanson, MI from 12 noon - 1pm. She is a candidate for MI Secretary of State, chosen at the MI Democratic Convention April 19.

Friday Feb 6, we hosted 2 candidates for upcoming primaries in northern Michigan at our General Membership meeting. It was held at the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians Tribal Headquarters. Both spoke to us about their reasons for running for the state offices in the upcoming primaries.

3/4 If you are coming up to enjoy winter sports at local ski hills Nub's Nob or the Highlands, or are more of a summer enthusiast boating on Crooked Lake or Little Traverse Bay, riding through the Tunnel of Trees, or attending a local festival, know that the local Dems are here & working hard!

3/4 If you are coming up to enjoy winter sports at local ski hills Nub's Nob or the Highlands, or are more of a summer enthusiast boating on Crooked Lake or Little Traverse Bay, riding through the Tunnel of Trees, or attending a local festival, know that the local Dems are here & working hard!
2/4 Bliss, Levering, & a small part of Mackinaw City. While Emmet County is still red, it's been trending blue the last several presidential elections, even in 2024! In the fall of 24, we were lucky enough to be the location for Gov Walz preparation for his debate. We couldn't have been prouder!
