(I like the rejection of the idea that a "better story" is the answer to everything? As Rasch asks, when it comes to issues like climate change - or inequality or immigration - is it really the case the right just has better "stories" than the left, or do they have more effective propaganda???)

there are lots of active travel schemes, classified as provision for walking and cycling, but which are entirely derived from planning for (high-capacity) cycle routes - there is no “planning” for walking, there are footpath upgrades alongside planned cycle routes, which is why these claims feel off

I'm probably salty about this claim because, despite the volume of money being spent on "pedestrian infrastructure", a lot of the money identified as being allocated to "walking" arises purely as a by-product of a commitment to a road project (for bikes)
