Loyalty is meant to be a positive trait. But in the @scotlibdems.org.uk loyalty meant silence, cover-ups and collusion. Loyalty = complicity. 🧵 1/7

I left X in Jan, but I’ve rejoined today. Urgh. Politicians and media are still there. Therefore, in lead up to the election the #AskAlex campaign must be too. Damn it! But I’ve missed lots of the people on there.

I also want to build my BlueSky network. Please follow and share.

Engender's recent report, Women's Political Journey, is important - but it didn’t go anywhere near far enough.

We need real change or we'll be reading the same recommendations ahead of the 2031 Scottish election...and 2036...and 2041...

To the women who raise us to be the best we can be. The Walker Women. Also possibly the reason red is my favourite colour.

Big week ahead so went for a walk around my neighbourhood today, breathed in fresh air and shared some churros with loved ones. 💗 Looking after myself ahead of stress is a new concept to me, but it really helps to Do The Thing (whatever your thing maybe) and not need so long to recover afterwards.

The Employment Rights Bill has started its final stages in House of Commons today. It's an almost overwhelmingly exciting piece of legislation for those who have non-disclosure agreements, not least because it will essentially void any gagging agreements.

Will this be bad for Reform or will it speak to significant proportion of women who are floating voters, suffered their own abuse in silence and susceptible to smoke and mirrors feminism? Another reason why mainstream parties need to get their act together on hiding abuse and protecting abusers.

My favourite thing this week was Mary Poppins at Festival Theatre, Edinburgh. I felt like I was seven again. But why did they remove Mrs Banks’ suffragette story in favour of her wanting to be a good wife? More soldiers in petticoats please.

Happy New Year, or if you prefer to take things in smaller chunks like me, happy new day. It feels woo woo to say, but not one of these days are guaranteed to any of us. 2025 might get bumpy…keep your head up, everyone.

Some of my fave skies of 2024…

Best take on the latest Lib Dem farce in Colinton / Fairlilehead…

the vetting is terrible in the Lib Dems, and the men refuse to believe women have a voice in their own campaign. Here’s Christine Jardine, as an incumbent MP no less, explaining what it’s like to be a woman candidate.

First post!

Hello. I help people to have difficult conversations in safe ways.

I’m learning Spanish. I have a cat. I went through breast cancer treatment recently, which reignited my love of reading and walking. Scotland is home.

As a whistleblower, these are the things I’m comfortable with:
