My first ever attempt at Swiss darning! These socks have been in my mending pile for waaay too long, but today I decided IT WAS TIME. Happy with the result and being able to wear these socks again!

Spooky knits week for #ShowMeYourKnits ! The pattern is Arachne by Andi Satterlund. It is not available anymore so I'm very glad I bought it when I had the chance. Very spooky-month-y but I love spiders and wear it all year round!

I found the most perfect lavender yarn in a little yarn shop in Porvoo, turned it into a 1930s scarf and cap set. #showmeyourknits
A little scarf and hat set in lavender, both have a stitch pattern with bobbles. A view from the back. The hat is a small cap on the back of the head.

On this #FairIsleFriday, I have finally finished knitting my 1940s vest. Now I only have all of the body's weaving in to do...
The background colour of the vest is light, grey-ish blue. The first stripe of fair isle is a petrol blue zigzag, after that there is a border of mid-green and white surrounding a navy and yellow centre. This motif alternative with a navy, light yellow and golden yellow diamond-ish pattern. The vest inside out. There are approximately 40 ends of yarns leaving the vest's side.

I'm Emma, I work as a teacher, I love historical and slow fashion, my main hobby is knitting while watching TV. I'll probably repost pics of farm animals and 1940s dressing gowns.

The Group by Mary McCarthy: The best book I've read in years. Instantly became one of my all-time favourites. Truthful, catty, hilarious, heartbreaking.
