typo i just made: marvin gate. he's your dad's mate from the pub who'll sing at any opportunity given (as opposed to whichever dude brings out the guitar to play wonderwall, which in my case is literally my dad*) but doesn't understand why asking "what's happening?" repeatedly causes a laugh.

I'm aware I tend to only come on here to rant, but people who make festival websites should probably think of people who might in fact want to USE festival websites. SO MANY which crash out with huge pointless videos and not enough with actual information at hand.

another call for a music equivalent to games press. let me tick a box as recognising an embargo / limit access to info per account group etc, but searching my inbox subjects for dates then trawling various websites and still being surprised on a random friday is so frustrating

really need the big search engine to offer an option to NOT place endless videos first when looking for instructions where at all possible. the tactics by video makers to extend viewing time are not compatible with my brain whatsoever (and i find video difficult to follow at the best of times)

whether conspiratorial or otherwise, the facebook ads on the shortform video app implying it's a good place to go live for young users must be known to be hilariously awful (as they don't allow comments from the off)

can't find any reference to anything like it bar this, but sorting images in adobe bridge/lightroom by dominant colour would be v useful for us editing live music photos (as i encounter another back-and-forth switch) community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom...

Most of that big long thread came via coursework in which I looked into the viability of Milton Keynes' old bus station being made into a venue / bar / record shop: it's council owned, listed, not directly next to housing, great transport links, etc.

I'm gradually returning to a few things I wondered about while studying (but which had to be mentally parked as I couldn't consider them AND work full-time AND complete a part-time MA): how to get younger audiences into live music and the increased barriers to it.
