Just went outside to cut some rosemary to add to the meal I’m cooking, & found these two enormous squash (?) growing in a quiet corner of the vegetable garden. I did plant a selection of vegetables earlier in the year, but thought the slugs had eaten the lot.

Thank you all so much for your kind words about our little dog Willis. He was, as they say, quite a character. I often made him earn his keep by including him in photos “for scale”. Here are a few of those..

Sad news, I’m afraid: Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Willis.
He was exceptionally cute and also consistently grumpy. He spent 90% of his life on someone’s lap (didn’t mind whose), and, like most terriers, was the walking embodiment of a Napoleon complex.
He was very loved and he knew it ❤️
