Asylum simply means he would have a pathway to citizenship, it's more permanent. But ultimately meaningless since this admin doesn't respect laws.

Yeah, so he stayed here. Under protected status. If they wish to change that, or send him somewhere else, due process is required. So they need to return him to the US. As ordered by both the Distirct and Supreme Court.

He was granted protected status in 2019. I'm not sure what you believe "asylum" means, but he was granted protection from return to ES. Which is why he has been here, working legally for 5 years since. If they now wish to revoke that status, that requires due process. In the US. What's not clicking?
