All I want is a happy, equitable, safe, beautiful, green, healthy, pleasant city and a bowl of popcorn. is that too much to ask? she/her Winnipeg, MB
Took a breather from the fast & furious pace of campaign life this evening to go to a very special book launch at @mcnallyrobinson.com. I laughed, I cried, and was reminded that the world may be on fire, but there are so many of us working to change that. Congratulations to all the poets & editors!

Speaking of tree-planting grants, I loved seeing the beautiful new grove of 21 trees planted at Valley Gardens Community Centre when I visited today. The planting was made possible by a Home Grown Grant through the City of Winnipeg. valleygardenscc.squarespace.com/blog/valley-...

I LOVED experiencing the Manitoba Hispanic Show this afternoon. It was a pleasure to visit with vendors & businesses, learn about non-profits doing vitally important work in the community, and see lively dance performances! Congrats to La Paila Canada for such a wonderful event!

It was really neat to attend the Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program announcement this morning, as a board member of CNRC.

This funding will remove financial and logistical barriers to improving home energy efficiency for many low- to moderate-income Chalmers residents, including renters.

The weather wasn't great but everyone made the best of it at the Elmwood Night Market last night! One fun new addition to the event was the Handle the Heat hot wing challenge with sauces all made by JC's Tacos. Kudos to these brave souls!!!

Dutch Elm Disease season has begun... last night I spotted three elms in my neighbourhood that look like they could have DED 😢🌳

The city's open tree database already shows almost 700 elms tagged with the orange dot of death, with many more certain to be added.
