I wasn’t the biggest fan of 16 either though so I’d like to believe that my criticisms of CBU3 are consistent

I stopped subbing after endwalker, but most of the complaints that I see now about the story and content are thoughts that I’ve had for awhile now. I think Shadowbringers really elevated the narrative development that people expected, but they couldn’t really deliver after switching writers

Tbh I love XV maybe that’s a hot take. Noctis and the boys are such a fun party. Might be because I started with newer entries and then worked my way backwards

Worth mentioning that the both the music and aesthetics are pretty stellar overall

If you’ve never played FF7 og or FF9, I’d probably recommend those games before this one. The narrative and character writing in both games is timeless and unparalleled in the genre

But usually with supernatural media we just get Glorb the green skinned alien that basically looks human and quips with the other human characters about how much they love baseball

I feel like a lot of media focuses on humanizing their otherworldly characters for audience relatability, but it’s much more interesting to see the needle move in the other direction. Like, what if Tom from accounting turned into an abstract monstrosity that feeds on people’s pride for power.
