I am 100% in agreement with you and that is not my position. My position is based on simple pragmatic practicality. Any realistic option other than Labour at the next election will be worse than Labour.

I am afraid that I must disagree. The United States have ended up with Trump due to a variety of factors including, but not limited to: sensationalist media, political illiteracy, religious indoctrination, political corruption and racism. Compromise and tolerance did not single-handedly cause Trump.

I would condemn anyone who supports a party led by a man who admires Donald Trump.

I have made it clear that this was my personal position, and that it is up to our own individual consciences as to what we should each do. So if my cautionary advice does not apply to you or thousands of others, feel free to disregard it.

I am a left wing member of the party, I do not feel purged. Am I 100% happy with the current party? No. But my priority is not to get what i want. My priority is to stop the far right getting into power again. To stop Farage and his ilk. If that means I have to compromise, then I will.

I'm not othering anyone who chooses to do differently, I fully understand why many people are frustrated with Labour and do not want to support them. My position is simply that I personally feel that it is better to overcome that resentment if it prevents a worse outcome. No hypocracy there.

Apologies, but I fail to see where I have demonstrated any hypocracy. My position is simply that I would rather support someone I don't agree with fully, if it prevents the ascension to power of someone who I disagree with completely, and I think it wise for others to do likewise.

That's between you and your conscience. You can choose to be steadfast and not deviate from your principles and beliefs, and ultimately end up in a party of one. Or you can compromise and present a united front against a greater evil.

If I realise I'm being bossy or overbearing in a conversation, I will apologise for being a 'phallic spud'. They will then look at me quizically, and I will say a 'dick tater'.
