Guess I should tell my 4 and 2 year olds to stop being such a drain on society and get out there and pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Their father died of cancer 3 months after diagnosis while I was 7 months pregnant with the now 2 year old. We’re surviving because of their benefits.

Absolutely! Print, copy, scan, fax….among many other things.

I run the book club at the library where I work and it’s So. Hard. to not always chose books on my own TBR! We’re a very small group so for now while I do technically have final say, we usually kind of go with a majority rule and I always try to put suggestions from members in the mix.

I took this personally. 😆😆

Congrats! I’m going to be ordering at least one copy for my library.

Pretty sure you win the internet today. 😆 Laughing to keep from crying…

Great, thank you so much!

I do. I have it sectioned out by topic and I add things that seem important or that I like. I just started my witchcraft journey, so my plan is to make note of what I actually use and annually start a new one with just the things I use. That would then make room to add new things.

I’m just finding out about this now and I’m so sad I missed it! Do you know if there is a recording available or if the resources are available somewhere?

Nothing from the government, no. But the entities I listed are all independent organizations with who are aggregating lists of books that there are ban attempts in. Except in the case of P2025, it’s the list of books they’re targeting.

Also to clarify: they are threatening to defund the program, it has not been ended in Indiana yet.

I get it, I’m putting together a series of videos on books I have in my library to help kids with the current goings on. I was going to just do reviews, but especially since they’re kids books I’m now thinking I should do readings too. 🤔

What list are we referring to, or just any and all? The American Library Association keeps a list, the DOD just put out a list - which includes their own JD Vance’s Hillbilly Elegy 😆, the P2525 list…

There was an author, and I can’t remember who it was, who said that their sales went up when their book ended up on a banned list somewhere. Obviously we don’t want book bans, but it makes me giggle at their unintended consequence.

No copyright issue, you’re not trying to claim the work as your own. There was a ton of concern about this during Covid lockdowns and I attended several webinars with lawyers who said it’s not an issue.

Neither did I! 😆

Ugh, when I downloaded apple maps yesterday it said Gulf of Mexico. When i double checked just now it’s updated to Gulf of America. 🤬

Thank you all for the suggestions! My poor phone is probably wondering what’s going on, I just downloaded a bunch of them to try.

Is MoonX on android or iPhone? It sounds really cool but I don’t see it in the apple App Store.

Also, most libraries have access to some form of inter library loan system, so even if they don’t have what you’re looking for they can get it for it
