This looks very cool. Also, I love that your cat is named Rollie Fingers. Hopefully someday he'll manage to grow his namesake's mustache! 😉

Ok. I just read about the solfège, which to be honest, I'd never heard of. When I looked up the original lyrics in my initial "what am I missing here" confusion, I just found Rogers' "so." I admit I'm wrong, but it still is not my favorite clue.

I guess it is spelled correctly in one sense, but not in the sense of the clue. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I believe it! I was at the University of Washington when some of their crow research came out. I knew they were intelligent, but had no idea just how clever they were until then!

Sometimes I wonder if they have more fun messing with him than he would stalking the birds. It's a pretty funny setup to watch! (And I promise, no one, feline or avian, is at risk of anything more than a severe case of feline embarrassment!)

My mom's cat goes on walks & has a little area where he is allowed "alone" on his leash. He seems to have zero instinct for hunting & is a senior cat citizen by now, but is still superivised. The birds learned quickly just how far he can reach on his tether & tease him mercilessly.

Very good advice. And a hobby that keeps your hands busy keeps you from doom scrolling. I need to get back into serious knitting, I think.

Exactly! It's only been about 6 weeks & I'm so stressed, I'm barely keeping it together some days. This is going to be a long 4 years (plus a lifetime of the effects of everything he does).

Towards the end of Stalin's life, political prisoners in the gulag would say things like "Georgians live such long lives."

So exciting! I just preordered it! (Also, I didn't even know that was a thing you could do in the app store 😅) Thank you!

When the 1937 census didn't reflect the increasing population figures Stalin had been promising, he had the census workers sent to the gulag & released 'edited' figures. History keeps repeating with slight variations on the tune.

I saw the "person" headline & clicked because I thought it was a new case with (presumably) an unidentified victim. Once I started to read, it was very obvious what had happened to the headline. It's another form of violence.

Oh, certainly. But finding a way to charge & hold them accountable is a different matter.

Metro PD (DC local police) can't force entry. They have no more right to enter a federal building than anyone else unless assigned there. That would be like a Nevada cop trying to pull you over in California. Except that there is a greater possibility it may end in gunfire.

In Washington, there are dozens of police departments. Only a very few of them are local & answer to the mayor. The vast majority are federal & answer to agency leadership & eventually the White House. The WH & all agency buildings are federal property.

Oh, well that is also acceptable! 😆

I love these updates! Any idea of when you'll be opening up spots for more testers? (Pretty please?)

Good luck with your daughter's insurance appeals. Hopefully the manufacturer has a bridge program to cover you until the insurance is sorted out!

This happens to me fairly regularly now. The meds that I've been on for years (sometimes decades) are suddenly not medically necessary, despite the fact that they obviously are. I've described it elsewhere, but I estimate I spend a min of 40+ hrs/yr fighting these battles. It is a war of attrition.
