What I think doesn't get enough attention is the callousness of Republicans when talking about the economic uncertainty that THEIR policies are creating for working middle class people who have done everything "right", including putting savings into their 401(k)s.

Hurd is my Rep. There was a HUGE turnout at my town's library yesterday for his field rep's scheduled appearance. She was a no-show. But the 300+ people there made good use of our time. These cuts will be devastating in deep red Montezuma County, and tthe backlash will look bright blue.

The assumption that rural places and workers are naturally conservative is problematic. I am a rural liberal, among many like-minded neighbors. I would like for the Democrats to fight harder for the places and the people I love, and for rural voters. Take up a Wendell Berry and Daniel Kemmis view...

I work with USFS all the time. Dedicated and talented scientists and resource specialists. Exemplary public servants. I would say they are patriots, and that they are not on any extreme side of the political spectrum. They are as terrified as the rest of us are right now.

Please also advocate for Indian Health Services. I know that the Colorado Tribes and tribal lands fall outside of your district, but we down here in CD3 do not have an advocate in Congress. We need IHS for our communities and Native American family members.
