this book opens with a pitch perfect Pliny the Younger pastiche! and then god how the language LIVES from there. what an incredible book. it’s a novella it doesn’t take long to read it has a gorgeous little romance of a sequel it’s perfect. have you read it yet.

‘surely there are other things’ yeah! Miller and her successors, Percy Jackson, the locked tomb, anything with an Imperium in it, & don’t get me started on hadesgame unless you have a few hours free. but simply no one else is doing it like Kai Ashante Wilson.
