I just read “A New Kind of Dan” by @kylerseibel.bsky.social in Best Small Fictions 2024 (originally in @trampset.bsky.social), and loved it so much. The ending is perfect. Sorry I’m so late to this one, but if you haven’t read it… trampset.org/a-new-kind-o...

Okay so every year we fight about how countdowns work, so this time we're just doing a choose-your-own-countdown countdown where you do the math, because we can't. The comp ends the Saturday after this one. You're more likely to know how many days that is than us.

This CNF in @pitheadchapel.bsky.social is incredible. The structure is so perfect for the content--the way @mooninabucket.bsky.social won't let us get too deep in any of the moments before pulling back, how she gives just the right amount of details and then stops...the restraint here is perfect.
Up with the sun this Saturday, and so is the new issue of @pitheadchapel.bsky.social, including a CNF piece that flowed unbidden into my notes app on a long night at the hospital, but felt so painful to revisit that it took years—YEARS—to revise to its final form. Link in comments ⬇️ 🩵 🙏

Gone Lawn was one of the first journals that made me want to be a part of this flash community. I remember reading every story in an issue a few years ago and thinking “This is what I want to do!” (And then quietly dreaming of someday being published there…) Let’s help them keep going!
Hate this sort of thing.

Dark times keep getting darker. If you like Gone Lawn and you have the means, consider a donation to keep us going, even something small. Thank you.
