I just want to give a shoutout to my therapist who has genuinely helped me become a more empathetic person and better communicator.

I can’t believe some people let their cats outside alone. I mean, look at this guy. He likes to lick adhesive so he went digging in a trash can for lint roller sheets. He needs adult supervision!!

I don’t know how republicans sleep at night. “We are adding to the national debt to make Elon Musk richer, but at least poor kids won’t have healthcare or food”

Has anyone else noticed that if you mark a type of post as “show less like this,” you only see more of that?

Current Democratic resistance is performative
The weeks of performative “resistance” from those in my party were limited to undignified antics.

Voting to shut the government down will punish millions or risk a recession.

I disagree with many points in the CR, but I will never vote to shut our government down.

#ScienceSky, is MG-RAST a current database or is it no longer maintained? Basically everything I do there comes back with "server error"

This RFK Jr stuff is seriously messing me up. I really thought I’d never see the day where “I’m against forced labor camps” would be a partisan opinion

Prediction: Trump will have a falling out with Elon, get rid of DOGE, and brag about how much money he is saving taxpayers by cutting federal bureaucracy

Sooooo if this whole "biological sex" EO is really happening, biologists are going to make as much noise about it as possible, right?

Professional societies, universities, individual research groups? It's really incumbent on us (that's a "biologists us" here) to make a BIG FUCKING STINK

Every news article I’ve read about bird flu for the last few years: It’s kind of bad, but we don’t need to really worry until X specific thing happens
The next article: So X specific thing did happen, but we don’t need to really worry unless Y happens
The Louisiana Department of Health reports the first death from H5N1 bird flu in the United States

There is currently no way on Bluesky to mute an image (memes, quotes, etc) so it would be really nice if everyone would agree to retweet the original post instead of saving the image and posting again. My skyline thanks you 🫡
