I mean, sure, there are books that can shape people, books where people base their whole personalities around the espoused philosophy

But I dont think people are carrying those around for clout.

So, probably not a dangerous trend, and it's weird I keep seeing it pop up.

If you love it, you'll come back.

It was my first Sanderlanche, so it was an interesting experience! I definitely think it would be interesting to go back and re-read the book seeing how all those little details were sort of laid into place for the finale.

I dont think there's a writer alive or dead that didn't have to settle, though.

The only thing you'll find looking for perfect is anguish.

Then I'm afraid the problem likely isn't with your writing at all.

It's that your being terribly hard and unfair to yourself.

If your scrapping scenes, then it's time to think about what it's contributing to the story. Not the plot, necessarily. But what was the scene meant to accomplish.

A scene will always have a goal. Be it to get characters moving, realize feelings, introduce intrigue.

A first draft is often just blocking and stage directions.

It's good enough. You've created a scene. The vibes can be inserted any time, any edit. Nothing is or needs to be perfect on a first draft.

Read through the stage directions today, insert vibes. It'll be easier with something on the page.
