Not completely to your point but maybe these very profitable publishers who charge prices for open access/subs could hire & pay professional reviewers & editors?? Rather than asking people to volunteer who are probably incredibly overworked & in precarious employment & must publish or perish.

I'm incredibly disappointed in my own government who promised to pass occupied territories bill and have not. And disappointed in EU as a whole for not doing anything to stop this horror. Not even a word of criticism from many EU leaders or Ursula van der Leyen.
