Started the year with a fantasy inspired & influenced by Slavic Folklore (Foul Days by Genoveva Dimova), so it only feels right to (almost) finish out the year with an urban fantasy inspired & influenced by Slavic Folklore (When Among Crows by Veronica Roth)

Why yes, I did schedule a book club meeting mere days before my wedding. 🤪

Good thing the book we will be discussing is the fun & extremely Minnesotan Rom-Com, Anywhere With You by Ellie Palmer! 🥰

Currently reading Strong Roots by @oliahercules.bsky.social, and this book is fascinating, heartbreaking, insightful, & poignant.

As someone w/ Estonian heritage marrying someone w/ Ukrainian heritage, this book feels a bit like finally learning about our own family histories, and more.

The Next Chapter by @kelloggcamille.bsky.social is absolutely delightful. I chose it for the upcoming @nextchapterbooksmn.bsky.social romance bookclub, because duh, & I think I did quite well with this choice, if I do say so myself. 😜

It's finally nice enough outside (the smoke/haze is starting to clear & it isn't a million degrees outside🥵); I can read my current book, Shade: The Promise of a Forgotten Natural Resource by Sam Bloch, under a nice & big tree.🌳

Perks of being a bookseller: sales reps/publishers supplying you w/ amazing books in translation that'll probably destroy you emotionally, but you are 💯 here for it.

Started a new book this weekend:
Move Like Water by Hannah Stowe 🌊🏞️

Absolutely in love with the prose - the book feels classic and timeless, even though it was only written/ published within the last few years. (by @tinhouse.bsky.social )
