I had spots of glue that took a week to come off after surgery. And I’m allergic to the adhesive so I was just welts and sticky spots for days.

Yep. I once attended a conference presentation for academic affairs administrators about how to deal with a non-academic president. I did not walk away from the talk feeling very good about my career.
