#geothermal needs #geologists!
I've been moving water through rocks my whole career, initially to harvest oil and gas, and now for geothermal energy.

@thewallstreet.bsky.social highlights the need for more #geos in geothermal. Rocks and renewable energy? Perfect match!

Geothermal Energy Is Heating Up. It’s Going to Need More Geologists.
The only renewable-energy source buoyed by the Trump administration is in short supply of scientific experts as the industry expands.

Amidst DOE cuts, US funding for geothermal is about to surge.

Historically, geothermal has been underfunded relative to other renewables. So it's an important opportunity to move the needle and match the gains we've seen in wind and solar.

But innovation systems are global - and that means...

I’ve seen how #regulations make or break #energy projects.

#Canada has the skills & resources—but not the regulatory clarity needed to unlock #geothermal.

Our new report offers proven guidelines from global leaders like 🇵🇭, 🇳🇿, and 🇮🇸.

Let’s fix this.

#Geothermal isn't always volcanos 🌋 and hot springs ♨️. Sometimes it's an unassuming drill rig in the #Saskatchewan prairie.

Recent innovations could allow enhanced geothermal power - a source of baseload - to be sited near demand.

A recent study found geothermal could "meet 100% of anticipated data center demand growth in 13 of the 15 largest markets…and at least 15% of power needs in 20 of 28 markets nationally.”
According to a new Rhodium Group report, behind-the-meter enhanced geothermal energy could meet up to 64% of the forecasted growth in electricity demand at hyperscale facilities across the U.S.
