I have an a1 mini. It’s more than enough.
Modeling wouldn’t be an issue depending on what you plan to use it for. Can find lots of things for free/pennies.
For functional prints you would be using a cad software. If you’re familiar with illustrator it’s easy to pick up.

Can’t infringe IP except for the work it was already trained on. I get it.
I am biased because it’s my job on the line obviously but the more we feed the beast “for fun” or “just to experiment” the more Altman can go asking for more money.

I bought a bambu lab a1 mini a few months ago. It’s pretty much set and forget and very cheap for the quality. Highly recommend
