And that's how I found out about barred owls. A few minutes later he was looking at us like a disgruntled cat.

Fun story: my dad was holding my then-1-yr-old on his lap, and we were all sitting in the grass at a park when suddenly a chipmunk darted towards us and went under my dad's legs and a dang barred owl ALSO forced himself under there. My dad said he felt the talons through his jeans. (No one was hurt)
