As I try to catalog works by Homer published in Amsterdam in 1707, I'm reminded that some good, smart eggs from @swarthmorecollege.bsky.social hung out with my boss and wrote about it in the Undergraduate Classics Journal

The spine...does not look good, but I am pretty sure this is before it underwent conservation treatment, don't @ me. The leaf on the right is the title page for Poor Will's pocket almanack, for the year 1777 : fitted to the use of Pennsylvania, and the neighbouring provinces ... Philadelphia : Printed and sold by J. Crukshank, in Market Street, opposite the Presbyterian Meeting house, [1777?], A 776po. Part of a ruler is visible. The leaf on the left or front pastedown is inscribed "Frank Marx Etting June 7, 1832," "1063/10," and has a square black bookplate with white text that says "The Philip H. and A.S.W. Rosenbach Foundation Museum."

I thought it would be take me a half hour at most to shelve a newly processed and cataloged acquisition yesterday (the Lippincott) and let colleagues know I had Done A Thing. Joke's on me, nothing's ever that easy.
A copy of the February 1890 issue of Lippincott's Monthly Magazine containing The Sign of the Four in a blue, four-flap enclosure above a red, bound volume with "The Sign of Four A. Conan Doyle" on the front board in a clamshell case. A series of books on a shelf. Visible spines include a hot pink "Morley Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson" and two versions of "The Sign of [the] Four" - one in blue morocco [?] and the other red cloth.
