Farrar Straus & Giroux is a well-known publisher, often abbreviated FSG.

I stopped paying attention to Neil Young the day I heard he supported Ronald Reagan.

So does this news mean he's given up on fascism? Good for him.

Clinton embraced Reaganomics & deregulated Wall St., leading to the 2008 crash. He murdered thousands of Iraqi civilians. He signed legislation destroying benefits for the poor & sending millions to prison for trivial reasons.

He's the one who should be sitting in a prison cell.

What's astonishing to me about Wheaton's sentiment is his failure to realize that the point of American politics now is to ENFORCE a sense of apathy & helplessness that discourages participation. There's a good reason most people think voting is a waste of time.

And when Democrats did have power, did they implement their policies as aggressively as Trump is now doing? Did they reverse ALL of the evils Trump did in his first term? Of course not. Biden did very little. They ignored public dissatisfaction with this corrupt system. So they lost power.

The only solution for these comics is to wait until the omnibuses start coming out, then read the reviews to see which ones are worth the time & money. With rare exceptions, I can't imagine buying single issues of DC/Marvel comics ever again.

People like him only want to go back to the time when he was exempt from this treatment. He is helping to train the next generation of fascist politicians to do exactly what Trump is doing, but more skillfully.

He remains a cult member in good standing and will probably never leave the cult.

I bet you were especially delighted when his administration skillfully ignored the genocide in Rwanda. Happy days!

We do NOT all love him and he was no role model. He's pure scum. He allowed the Bush administration criminals to go unprosecuted, just like he did the Wall St. thugs who crashed the economy. He sided with the rich against ordinary citizens EVERY SINGLE TIME.

You are a sniveling coward. You made Trump inevitable. Go away and enjoy your wealth. You're not wanted and you're not needed.

I learned the basic ideas of Marx in an undergrad survey course in 19C philosophy taught by a conservative Catholic prof - and it included none of the usual distortions, though the prof diagreed with Marx. The info is not hard to learn. But many have a vested interest in staying ignorant.

I always assume every "acceptable" book has been handled roughly for a whole semester by a drunk illiterate college student who loves highlighters.

It's about selling fast, in quantity, from the biggest sellers. In my experience it's worth it to look for more detailed descriptions from smaller sellers. Paradoxically, I've found that usually, when Goodwill sells used books online, they list them as "good" even when they're like new.

A couple days ago I was walking home in the freezing dark & saw a demo - I could see only anti-ICE signs & Palestinian flags. So I joined & immediately felt less depressed. I asked someone who organized the demo but they were practicing opsec & wouldn't answer 🤣. I later found it was PSL.

Are you seriously claiming the Philly BPP has more violent force available to it than the federal government? Do you really think that if ICE targets them, ICE will lose? If FoxNews decides to spotlight the BPP, what do you think will happen?

There was a time when I'd have fully embraced this perspective, but something about it seems off now. Maybe it's the moralism, the lack of a systemic perspective. Not sure. But capitalism is built on dehumanization. I'll have to look up what Freire said about it, which I remember loving.

And the professionals in the Democratic Party are squirming and seething, their eyes bulging with rage, as they cower in the backs of their slimy caves.

But in fairness the tiny egos of the entire mainstream establishment are doing their best to make the transition to WWIII as easy as possible for orange man.

Not sure what you mean. The empire is run for the benefit of the elite, not the average. In the past that meant it benefited the "average" (i.e., white middle class) American, who was needed to construct the capitalist infrastructure. But less and less so in recent decades.
