Baking for the past few weeks. As usual, I tend to fall off a bit from social media despite mentally trying to put myself out there. Mentality, life get in the way.

Very proud of the bakes this past month. Felt quite charming and fun. More in the alternate text.

Feeling rather happy from a personal, aesthetic view. I don't like to post gym pics here, but, I've been working hard in the gym for the past few years and I am finally fairly comfy with how I look. Wanted to share. Patience is all you need.

Bakes over the holidays. Experimented with some food dye, and made a second attempt at challah bread braid. Also, some focaccia for friends, and my favorite crinkles for the office.

Maybe the reason I have a very quiet, solo experience in my gym is because I look angry and much more serious than I really am.

Never will they realize I'm probably listening to Suisei at the moment. bibidi bappadee boowah~

Kind of amused that I'm near 40 and this is the first time I've cooked asparagus for myself. Trying to get into broader habits for food when I can.

Today was quite exhausting, but I felt more accomplished at work than I've felt in a long time. Many reports written, many jobs accomplished. Now in the hands of the boss.

Now to veg out.

Bread for the week - a milk sandwich bread for home, and the standard sourdough loaf for friends/the office. Everything pretty much ended up exactly how I wanted it. Low-osh hydration on both, I don't like to work with that level of dough. #bread #sourdough #baking

Cleaned up haircut and the color. Feeling pretty good, and the longer-term aesthetic goals are coming together.

Still working on style, but, we're progressing.

Thanksgiving for me is a "non" tradition. I celebrate the concept, but not the holiday itself. For funsies, pozole this year instead of turkey.

This year I'm thankful for the friends and family that have been supporting my new path in life. I'm trying hard, and hopefully making you proud.

This week's bread adventures - back to the cheese loaf. Still working on getting rid of all that cheese, a few cubes at a time.

Swapped some salt in the recipe for chicken bouillon, added garlic powder and about 80g gouda per loaf.

Wife: You need this
Me: Why
Wife: You always bake! And you bake a lot of cookies!
Me: ...well ok

Baking for this week, in preparation for my office's potluck. Sourdough loaves to be part of the stuffing/dressing, and honey rolls to...just to enjoy. Baked a day early I suppose, but they'll still be fine.

This week's #baking - naan and some basic CC cookies. Always a joy to bring stuff to the office for everyone to enjoy. Glad that my hobby can be shared with everyone. 🫠

Dia de los Muertos festival at a local arts center. The colors and liveliness of the center was wonderful. I think next year we'll spend more time to see the live music. Enchanting afternoon, to say the least.

Pan de Muerto - my favorite bake of the year.

I've harnessed the culture of my Mexican heritage and my wife's history with the holiday, and sharing in the festivities in my own way. Baking is art and love for me, and this bake makes me feel like a part of it all. My part of Dia de los Muertos.

Inclusions in sourdough have always been fun and exciting for me. This week - "Pizza Loaf." Tomato paste, cheese, pepperonis, garlic, and a bit of olive oil in the dough.

One of the more interesting ones I've made. #sourdough #bread #pizza
