Isn't it awful how good they are? My cardiologist has been pushing them so I finally bought some cheapies at the beginning of the school year. Now, I've worn them every school day since August... 😬 *sucks teeth* Oof.

Oh goodness, flashbacks to the poor middle school student I had that kept mispronouncing "organisms." (Admittedly, a word I worry about accidentally mispronouncing as the teacher!)

Luckily, it was during virtual school so no class to laugh. But the internal cringe was so bad!

There was also the case of the 3.5" floppy someone found cleaning out their classroom closet.

"Anyone know what this is?"

"Of couse!" "Duh"

"OK what is it then?"

"You 3D printed the save icon!"

The day I found a VHS tape for review. It was like I brought in a museum exhibit. "I've never seen one in real life before!"

And "Is *that* why they call it re-wind?!? Because it's actually winding something?"

Me: *turns to dust and blows away*

Ahhh. He was just the one I'd seen mention of most recently on the skyline.

Meanwhile, I figured it was Neil Gaiman.

So many scumbags, so little deserved redemption...

Wow. That's actually worse than the Boy Scout Troop leader trying to melt the ice on his roof with a blow torch that happened in my town when I was a kid. (Yes, he did set the roof on fire. It made the newspaper.)

WTF is it with snow that makes people think a blow torch is a good idea?!?

How cool! ❤️ Just shared this with a fellow sci teacher who is doing the genetics unit in intro bio right now.

Thanks for sharing!

It's one of tgose days. My body is being thrown for a loop by the cold front whiplash.

I got the stuff out to make bread, revisited my estimation of brain and body competency, and put everything back away.

Now I have no bread but I also didn't trust that I'd end up with bread if I attempted it.

Parents.

Just this weekend I got "Oh and (MiL) was in the hospital twice in December you know. Oh, the flu's been bad here. She had a collapsed lung and Some Other Stuff." (Emphasis mine.)

"She didn't want to worry anyone."

🤦‍♀️🤯

I'm an 80s baby and immune compromised so can't have the vax. I got my titers checked and while I (luckily) still have an immune response to measles, I don't have immunity to either mumps or rubella!

I fell out of my desk chair last spring. I think I tired to skooch it but my computer cord was wrapped around the base. Got a fantastically large bruise on my upper arm, hit my head, and had to fill out all kinds of fun workplace injury forms. No, staff does NOT need re-education on chair useage. 🙄

My in-laws do this too. They're from Buffalo and the bits that aren't Italian are Polish! An absurd amount of food and people. My husband's parents are divorced, so one year we did 4 or 5 houses. His sister said when she first had babies (first of that gen) she had to do 7 or 8ish. 🤣 Fun! But yikes!
