I'll never really understand how people have such short memories that they can buy wholly into a stupid concept like immunity debt and then when the simple passage of time demonstrates beyond a shadow of a doubt that the obvious bullshit was in fact bullshit, they just shrug and move on.

I’ve been reading Wages of Destruction and my biggest takeaway so far is that the Nazis did a colossal amount of damage despite, or even because of, the fact that they were catastrophically bad at managing the German state.

One myth I hope we can now dispense with is the whole “Trump is too much of an incompetent moron to be a fascist” canard. Every fascist government is a complete mess. That’s in the nature of the thing.
