To my disgust, he is my representative. We've never seen him in my part of the district, which was heavily gerrymandered to ensure that a conservative represented a chunk of liberal Athens. He owns a trucking company so the ports of Georgia are all he worries about...

Yes, for most big factories like automobile plants, states will set up specialty training programs through their technical colleges. Prospective employees will have to participate in these programs, which can sometimes take 2 years just to qualify for the job, with no guarantee that you'll get one.
