In community college students often lack confidence & training. I say I don’t want to hear from bots, I want to hear from them. Asking they make a good faith effort, I let them know their grammar use won’t be graded. My thinking is, as fear subsides, the easier it can be to guide them.

So, to help some of us out here, when & why does executive privilege extend to agency heads? How/why could it too be used to prevent mere discovery or fact-finding? And, as scotus would no doubt deem DJT acting in contempt of court an official act, how could his executive privilege be pierced?

Oh beautiful for vacant eyes , For amber waves of hair, For purple mounted varicose veins, Upon a swollen leg. America the land of Trump, Trump spreads his grift on thee, And crowns his good with your tears, sweat & blood, From LA, DC, Chicago to Portland, Memphis, Charlotte and Raleigh.

Right. Don’t think it’s conscious but somehow women get called out so much more for their looks than men.

Ok not arguing she doesn’t look pasty-faced even for walking dead. BUT do consider that many of us have to tolerate ugly MFs every day .. pudgy, blotchy, pink-faced, pug-nosed, tubby bellied, pig-eyed, elephant eared, sporting either a combover or toupée, plus latest golf-resort wear.

Back when, everyone asked, what did Mitch have on his GOP colleagues that made one after another either fall into line or pull out? Right now, MGT runs afoul of the presidency and pronto she looks for an escape hatch. Why?

I can’t help but wonder if the smirks are authentic or stagecraft.

Clearly she is experiencing a bipolar episode. But then again so is a good part of the nation.

So for the originalists, “3”branches of government must have been a typo? Or when they don their magic tricorn hats, they can peer beyond the words and into the minds of the framers? Divine intent over any prosaic literal reading?

Kant might have been a helpful antidote? Perhaps there is something suspect in the entirely unquestioning & unyielding viewpoint, but that aside what fascinates is the persuasive power, which touches on charisma as an entirely irrational force—even if manipulated by a science-bound atheist.

If this is a ploy to deflect attention from the Epstein files, declining purchasing power, health-care demolition, ICE’s thuggery, and the end of constitutional protections and intl. norms—it won’t work. But then again Trump had originally set his sites on Venezuela and its oil back in 2016.

Not a social crisis alone — it smacks of the blatant & systemic racism I had hoped to never witness again in my lifetime. Whether this is a blip or we are headed back to the bad old days, “No one is free until we all are free.” (MLK)

So scotus gets to revive Jim Crow by allowing states to factor race in their redistricting schemes aimed at disenfranchising bipoc voters, while preventing bipoc communities from using race to advocate for an equal & fair voice in govt. Contra the VRA. Could scotus’s cynicism get any uglier?

Great change requires great risk, will, resources—and what is perceived as just cause, not just good will? The end of slavery demanded Civil War but there were economic & political drivers as well as moral. Yes, 1929 aftershocks precipitate the New Deal, but so does fear of a Russian Revolution.

Mendacity is my favorite (with its echoes of Tennessee Williams) .. but one might add on treachery, venality, hubris .. so many to choose from, sigh.

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if all these amazingly skilled & knowledgeable farm workers could come together to start their own farming cooperative and come out from under the yoke of one of the most historically & presently exploitive and cruel industries?

The goal is to shift control over the life & death of mothers & babies away from mothers, families, doctors—over not just to men or white men, but white men in subaltern positions of power, who can demonstrate their ultimate authority by aborting mothers & babies. That is what “right to life” means.

The CIA was in this period busy assassinating leaders abroad. And post Bay of Pigs had motivation. But coincidence does not make a case. (Neither however does bald proclamation.) Still, last I heard one sizable rock was left unturned. Perhaps the CIA has released the Dulles travel logs since?

Bibi is a mass murderer whose hold on power is justified by an enemy he helped to create. Vicious power grabs drive many of the other involved parties (Iran, Saudi Arabia, US, et al). It is time for the people of Palestine & Israel to rise up together and shape their own just and equitable peace.
