that is not true, nor was that the conclusion of that blogpost. they clearly separated inapprop perc use (preg, high prev pops, and abnormal vitals) from pleuritic cp, which had higher OR, but clearly is a perc eligible population.

that would be amazing. i imagine once the pm cardio folks start feeding their model pe vs. non-pe ecgs we will have a black box solution that trumps our skill set

study compared a true seldinger device (most elegant insertion method) to regular IV caths. Would bet placement method & the general crappiness of using IV caths for anything more than the length of an operation (i see u, anesthesia) is likely culprit and not the plastic that the aline is made from.
