Our final #Plantsgiving tally was 81 species from 35 families! The annual post-dinner gin and tonic with grapefruit, rosemary, and The Botanist gin def helps that tally. A great time was had by all!

#Botany2025 was fabulous! I'm SO proud of these undergrads, who did a fantastic job presenting their work! It is so gratifying to make and strengthen connections with my Botany fam. 💖 you all! Unfortunately, my sore throat on Thurs morning was not karaoke related...I have COVID, so test yourself :(

Tundra managed to refrain from eating the #Plantsgiving checklist this year, but he's still tired out from the day. #catsofbotany

Happy #Plantsgiving all! We were so excited to eat that I didn't get a pic of the spread. Here's a prep photo and the obligatory gin and tonic at the end of the night. So fun to spend #Plantsgiving with other botanists! @jlandisbotany.bsky.social @jharden.bsky.social Final tally: 94 sp and 42 fams!

Update: Tundra is satiated with a total of 14 species from 11 families for his #Plantsgiving (not counting the tree species from the previous paper...). All of these came from his cat food and treats and the baby food we add to spice things up. He even has 2 species and 1 family that we didn't get!

Final #Plantsgiving tally is 80 species from 34 families! A best for us! My fav new spice was mace, even though it didn't give us a new species (same as nutmeg). Excited to cook with it for the first time!
