I never post on Threads. But, I will occasionally “like” a post,
Apparently this morning I “liked” a post that was too political? (I’m left leaning).

Welp, my account got deactivated (pending appeal). And I’m not even sure which post I “liked” that got me deactivated 😂🤷‍♀️

Pretty disconcerting

And where was your outrage when the previous 99.99999% of all crashes were piloted by white male pilots?? Hmmm?
Did you say “No more white male pilots!!! They’re not qualified!!”

You’re just sitting there like a dipshit, waiting for your chance to bash a woman.
You’re a misogynistic piece of shit.

I guess you want to gloss over the fact that the very senior white male Captain was too chicken shit to take the landing (which he was obligated to do, due to the conditions).
I would never have let a male or female, inexperienced First Officer to take that landing.

I encounter this almost on a daily basis (25+ years as an airline pilot).

Even if I have the traffic in sight, clear as day, I will say “negative traffic”.
ESPECIALLY in congested airspace.
Why? My FO and I have enough keeping us busy with flying our aircraft.
Let ATC worry about separation.
February 14, 2025 at 8:59 PM
You don’t hit another aircraft when you say you’ll maintain visual separation.
Plain and simple.

The BH could have easily said “negative traffic”. Then all the separation responsibility would have still been on ATC. Then ATC would have issued vectors.

The Black Hawk crew said they had the traffic in site AND would maintain visual separation.

“Pass behind” instruction may not have been heard?

Ok…. So??

The BH said they would maintain *visual separation*!!
As in…. They’ll make sure they won’t HIT THE OTHER AIRCRAFT!

Thank you! 🙏
We have awesome, highly capable women out there flying everyday!

👏 thank you! 🙏
I know there’s good guys out there. Speaks volumes of your character!

And thank you for your service!

I’m disheartened, but I’m proud of the job I do. I’m based at an airport that’s in a VERY red state.
So, I shouldn’t be too surprised when I experience these attitudes.

If men can’t understand why we would always pick the bear. They’re not going to understand this 🤷‍♀️

Do I know any who have actively tried? No (well, not witnessed)

Do I know any that I believe would help? I really don’t know anymore.

The friend I had the text exchange with, I really thought he was one that would speak out.

This is bothering me more than I thought it would. Pretty disheartening.
February 11, 2025 at 8:55 PM
I was going to reply “I don’t underestimate the misogyny in my industry. However, there are many male pilots I work with that are very supportive!”

Welp, a long time male colleague (close friend), just text me “Glad they changed it back. Was stupid they changed it in the first place”.

*sigh* 🥺
February 11, 2025 at 4:49 PM
And that’s the thing. It’s 100% pointless. We’ll still just call them “NOTAMs” (we never verbalize the actual phrase).
It was nice, however, to at least be acknowledged with the change to “Air Mission”.

But, it is, like you said, “petty”. They knew the change back would send a very clear message.

I think *hate* doesn’t quite describe their feelings.
They love “barefoot and pregnant, cooking in the kitchen at home”.

This administration hires just enough women so they can say “see, we have women in our administration!. We don’t hate women!”.

The fact is, the have zero RESPECT for women.
February 11, 2025 at 1:20 PM
After 25 years of being an Airline Pilot (a female Captain), it was nice to see *something* that was a little more inclusive regarding terminology.

I know it was just a minor change.
But, the change back is HUGE. A real slap in the face to women in aviation.
February 11, 2025 at 12:54 PM
Do…. do they know *anything* about how the air traffic control system works?
Or are they just gonna do “their own research”?

I’m an airline pilot. Am I concerned? Yeah…. Yeah I am.

4 more years of this!

Imagine the damage that will be done in that time.

Not trying to be overly dramatic. But, will the country even be able to recover from this?
