If there were year end recaps in Cretala, Dri would need to hear this.

She’s doing her best, y’all.

Texting with my husband last night before bed. I wasn’t quite sure how Dragonkeeper would end because shit was doing down, but I hit the point where I needed to decide. So I took my shower and talked to myself the whole time and figured it out.

AAAH! I know how the book ends, and it’s so good!

I’m still out of town for most of today (home tonight) so I updated my website for the cover reveal on Thursday. Did anybody see it ahead of time? 😂

Yes. This. Exactly. Still.
We went to Universal for a week, but the rest of the time, this. I wrote 54k words this summer.

I’m currently 300 words away from hitting 75k on -keeper! With my little by little mantra, that could take a few days, but I’ll get there and keep going.

I feel like all of my characters need to hear this.
August 2, 2024 at 11:20 PM
People say novels should be between 70k-100k words, but Dragonslayer is 154k and Dragonkeeper is looking to be the same.

Yall can look forward to these double VHS Titanic versions.

A year ago today, I celebrated writing the big plot twist of Dragonslayer. Today, I celebrate how far my main character has come. She still has a long way to go, though!

It has been so wonderful reading through all of this over the last week. I can't wait to share this book with y'all.

What do you mean fuil isn’t a word, New York Times. It’s very clearly a flower used in herbal remedies for blood loss in the imaginary universe I created.

😂 Meanwhile, in Cretala… Andriette goes by Dri and Delphinium goes by Phin. Now I want a Timothy.

I finished writing the first draft of my book last night.

I used to only write during the summers. I've talked a lot about how life changing it has been to NOT stop yet again.

73k words written since August 1st, little by little.
February 29, 2024 at 12:53 AM
I did it.

I’m done.

526 pages
150,427 words

Next revising, but first celebrating. 😭❤️

I did not do writerly things all day yesterday, but I opened up my book when my husband went to bed. (Snow day today) My plan was just to reread what I wrote Sunday and add observations and thoughts between the dialogue. I did, but then I couldn’t stop so I finished the chapter. 🥰
January 16, 2024 at 5:08 PM
Over winter break I wrote 17,798 words over 64 pages. 🎉

Now to make my teaching slides for the coming week. 😭
