That the show did All That and also acknowledged Garma's existence as little as possible (and specifically downplayed his connection to Char by having Char switch him out for Gihren in that one line, as though it's just a cold-blooded quip that doesn't mean anything) isn't a coincidence.

Oh absolutely. Char can drink wine with Challia in a way that appeals to the fujoshi demographic but OBVIOUSLY we're not supposed to take the idea they had anything gay going on SERIOUSLY. Beyond the Time is a love song? What do you mean? It's about time travel and getting hype for big robots.

In one sense, yeah, because as the woman she's expected to sacrifice the most in order to maintain this disaster, but I also think they both just deserve DIFFERENT. They're amazingly incompatible.

Seems like you could have just told this person your reasoning directly and let her share it with people who wanted to know, rather than putting it on blast to a site full of people who've never heard of her.

Zeta has so many good observations about how women are treated that it ultimately fumbles because it can't fully conceive of women having the same breadth and depth of feeling as men do.

Literally all they had to do was afford the sidelined women enough internality and narrative space for a few lines of dialogue or inner monologue about feeling conflicted re: the trade-off they've made, and I would have said they were cooking. It's right there!
