For WIP Wednesday, have a snippet from my newest Mage 141 series:
"Clay" as he was now called, reached out to him. "The not-kind beast us here. Remember your oath, Summoner." Clay freed him from his earthen shackles and Price stalked forward, calling upon a few neighbors to scout the way forward. He stumbled across a small village. The neighbors declared it empty except for a large expanse of shadow at the center that they wouldn't go near. Clay pinged him once more. "Ah, it appears my cost no longer applies. The deed has been done for you." Curious, Price strode toward the shadow. A tendril lashed out and dragged him in. Soon, Price was face to face with a man he barely recognized, and thought KIA. "Simon?"
