Definitely lower volume! I typically use 10 ml of dilute (0.2%) ropivacaine.

We used to call superior trunk a "low" interscalene back in the day. Anatomically, all of the root to division blocks are interscalene because they are between the anterior and middle scale next muscles (insert at 1st rib). I treat interscalene more like a fascial plane block today.
