If you see this, quote with a vampire who isn't Dracula.

Red Wing, Sam Wilson’s psychically linked falcon partner.

… interesting …

Definitely want to check out more of these comics and already snagged a copy of Darkstalkers vs Street Fighters. So will definitely be reading that in the future.

One thing I wish they would’ve done is interconnect the stories more, and seen more crossover between them. Most characters are within their own plots and don’t meet the other Night Warriors
Aside from Donovan

What’s there is already fun and solid, so can’t complain too much.

Some characters are sadly only cameos like Sasquatch and Huitzil.
Worse still, some characters don’t even appear, like my fav Lord Raptor.

Did get some new favorites like Morrigan’s butler duo Lucien and Mudo, they’re real cute with how they worry over their mistress.

A real great variety of stylish and expressive art that fits the cartoony characters of the games, with plenty of iconic attacks lovingly included.
The writing feels on point and the characters combos in the plot-lines all land for me.
Favorite of them is probably Morrigan vs Dimitri

Darkstalkers Ultimate Edition

I love the Darkstalkers franchise, and all of its characters. So, when I found this book collecting the whole solo series from Udon, I had to pick it up.
After reading it, I’m super happy with my purchase.
This book was just about everything I hoped it to be.

And he’s in the movies too

And some other great a-listers giving suitably, silly and serious performances would be Billy Zane and Sam Elliot.

The talent behind this from the actors to the writing and direction made me really get into this series from the jump.

Would probably recommend this show to those curious.

Wiig as Vicki also gets a lot more to do in this longer runtime. She was largely a love interest in the film, but she gets to be a lot more active.

Plus, she gets to share a lot of scenes with the incredible addition of Lawrence Fishburne. The two are so funny and cute together.

MacGruber though gets a lot of his harder edges sanded down, making him softer, more likable, and competent. However, not completely throwing off his original personality. It feel more like he’s been humbled over the time gap.
With 8 episodes, they’re able to flesh him out much better.

MacGruber miniseries

A peacock original series that was a real surprising delight for me. They do the classic sequel/revival troupe of breaking up the group, which hurts some characters but helps others.

Like Piper who’s so resentful, kills that chemistry from the film. Just feel bad for him.

A pleasant surprise was to see Val Kilmer as the baddy. Love any scene that he’s in.

Favorite joke in general might be when MacGruber begs to Piper.

Overall, movie is fun, and decently humorous, but didn’t wow me.

Though… it did lead me to…

Instead he’s much of the overconfident, full of himself, screw-up. Which, wasn’t as funny to me since it leaves it up to his costars to help move the plot.
But Forte is always funny, and has great chemistry with his costars.
Wiig and Phillipee both get plenty of moments to shine.

MacGruber 2010

Saw that this one was on Netflix awhile back and while I’m not an SNL fan, so not familiar with the character, I do love Will Forte.
I’ll admit was expecting a different sort of joke with MacGruber, imagining he’s ridiculously competent despite being played by Forte.

Definitely would make for a strange double feature, but I end up enjoying both films for different reasons.
Sad to see that this one underperformed and might spell the end of this as a series. Though, I’ll admit, I got no ideas where they could go.
Maybe best not to pull a Terminator and drag on.

Plot is convoluted, with the twists, villains, betrayals, lore dumps, and more out their sci-fi ideas
But hey, M3GAN continued to be a fun character, and I dug the action scenes we got.

Will say, movie majorly steamrolled the message of the original by having the AI redeemed and joining the fam

M3GAN 2.0

Saw this one while in theaters and had a fun time. It is a dumb, over the top, action follow up to the original low budget campy daring, but I can’t blame them. I feel like they succeeded at their aim, even if it wasn’t the most fitting continuation.

Great part of it would be the craft to all the puppets and miniatures. Though the gag of “isn’t it stupid seeing puppets doing stuff” got old - plus the puke scene.

The funniest part is Daran Norris as Spottswoode, every line delivery by him is pure gold and had me laughing every time.

Team America : World Police

Watched this while it was free on YouTube, mostly because of all the memes I’d seen of it. Thought it was alright over all. Solid songs, couple of strong jokes, and a suitably over the top story.
Will say it’s definitely of its era with the commentary and satire.

I was hoping to see the Abbott crew at Patty’s, but I digress.
What I definitely feel is weaker is the crossover between the two. The gang is more so exploring the school, and the staff react in post at the f-ed up stuff.
At least Janine got to say “ total fucking Cunt” so that was fun

It’s Always Sunny S17 E1 “The Gang F***S up Abbott Elementary”

The part 2 to the crossover episode from earlier this year… kind of. This episode was basically an extended off the first, showing more of the what the gang was getting up to at Abbott.
Which I won’t lie, was a little disappointing.
